Welcome
A little bit about ourselves
Hi, I'm Bart.
I'm the interviewer of the group, which means I write the questions for the interview, find a person we can interview and actually do the interview.
So what about myself: I play a lot of sports in my free time and I like to be busy with music.
My goals in life are: to finish my school and go to university and find a job after that. My final goal in life is to start a family.

Interview with mr. Pavic
We had an interview with Mr. Pavic, a man that fled out of Bosnia with his family. We chose to do this because we were very interested in talking with people that had a past wherein they fled out of a country for specific reasons to a better doing country. We in the Netherlands are never confronted with war, only by the media. We wanted to talk to someone who had experienced a war himself, so that we would actually have a better understanding of war and what people experience when going through it.
Question: You have emigrated. When and from where?
Answer: I have emigrated from Bosnia to the Netherlands in around 1994 and 1995.
Question: The Bosnian war ended just before that time. Why did you leave after the war?
Answer: Leaving is a very big decision and after the war a group of people came to power that didn’t share our political ideas.
Question: Was it dangerous, moving to the Netherlands?
Answers: It was very dangerous, but it was worth it.
Question: Eventually you decided to leave. What finally settled the matter?
Answer: It was not a war like the ones in the Middle East, the ones with only guns, but it was a one where they threw a lot of bombs. It just became too dangerous.
Question: Wasn’t it hard leaving everything behind?
Answer: Everything got destroyed so there wasn’t much to leave behind.
Question: Why would you go to the Netherlands?
Answer: In the Netherlands people have a better future. We wanted to raise our kids in an area where there are more rights and chances for them. In Bosnia you don’t have that when you are not in one of the higher classes.
Question: Do you ever have regrets that you left Bosnia?
Answer: I never have regrets. I am sure that we have better lives here than that we would have if we would have in Bosnia.

Link with human right
“In Bosnia you don’t have that when you are not in the higher classes.”
This contradicts with human right #1.
This human right states that every human is born equal and born with the same rights.
In Bosnia this is not the case. If you are born in a low class, you have fewer rights than when you are born in the higher classes.
